English for everyone

Jubilee Church host a weekly English class for speakers of other languages, called English for Everyone. If you would like help speaking, writing or reading English, the classes are open to all ages and abilities.

The classes are every Wednesday (during school terms) from 11.00am – 12:30pm at Jubilee House, and there are no fees to pay.

‘English for Everyone’ is to help anyone of any age and any background who seeks to improve their grasp of English as an Additional Language. Our students are people from many countries who wish to improve their language skills, learn about British culture and get to know local residents.

Things that we help with include:
• Conversation practice
• Reading and pronunciation
• Understanding grammar
• Homework
• Filling out forms
• Driving theory test
• Cooking
• Local information
• Explaining and celebrating customs and traditions (eg. bonfire night, pancake day)

We provide toys and informal childcare support for pre-school children during the drop-in.
