Gift Day 2019

Help support the work of Jubilee Church Hull

Gift Day 2019

Jubilee is continuing to grow and develop as a church know for reaching out to the different and varied communities of the city and region with the good news of the gospel.

On Sunday 12th May at our morning meeting, we will be holding a gift day towards the work of Jubilee.

TLG - Transforming Lives For Good

Last year, we shared about how we felt led by God to serve the young people in our city and through working in partnership with TLG, we would be opening an education centre at Jubilee in September 2019. This centre will support young people at the risk of exclusion by providing alternative education provision. At last year’s gift day, your giving enabled us to turn one of the rooms at the rear of Jubilee Central, into a classroom. The money given at this year’s gift day will be spent supporting this exciting, new project and will be spent in the following ways:

1. Headteacher and Teacher

We are now in the process of recruiting staff for the project and initially we will be employing two members of staff. The places at the education centre will be paid for by the sending schools so the project will be self-funding but initially we need enough money to pay for the first term of wages while we gradually increase the number of students within the centre.

2. Building Works

Although the classroom is completed, we need additional building works to the surrounding areas to create a suitable, safe learning environment. This includes transforming ‘The Hub’ into a social area for students, installing a medical room and the fitting of security shutters and new security system.

3. Youth Worker

An important part of this project is the link into the life of the church. We see this project as a great opportunity to introduce the children and their families to the person of Jesus. We would like to employ a part time youth worker who will be able to grow and develop our current youth work and also look for ways to engage the children who are attending the education centre.

Our aim

In total we are looking to raise £60,000 through our gift day.

We are also investigating whether we are able to secure grant funding for any of the above and if successful, any additional money raised will be used for the ongoing running costs of Jubilee and especially the future work in North Hull.
