On a Sunday we provide facilities for all children aged 0-11 years.
We are a church committed to welcoming and involving children in our life as a church. On a Sunday morning we provide additional facilities for all children from 0-11 years. We want to provide all children with experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way.
Parents/carers with children from 0-9 months can make use of our Wilberforce Lounge. This is next to our main hall and has comfy seating, a selection of toys and a live video feed from the main meeting. There is also a toilet with baby-changing facilities. You are welcome to feed your babies in this room. This room is reserved exclusively for parents with infants to enjoy the service in a more private and quiet environment.
Our kids work at Jubilee is called Explorers. Explorers is a place where children can have fun and learn about following Jesus together. We have activities every Sunday and have three age ranges:
Crawling – 3 years - A relaxed time introducing Jesus through play, singing, stories and craft.
4 - 6 years - A fun-filled morning learning about Jesus through story telling, worship, craft and teaching.
7 - 11 years - A lively morning of games, teaching, discussion and prayer, learning what it means to follow Jesus.
Jubilee operates a strict child protection policy and all our volunteers working with children are DBS checked. We have produced our own Child Protection Policy and copies are available from the church office, and are also held by the Church Child Protection Advisory Service.
If your child has special or additional needs and you would like them to be involved, please contact us to discuss the best ways in which we can support you and your child.
Here's what to expect when visiting Explorers for the first time:
Our Welcome Team will direct you to our Explorers area upstairs. There we will meet your family, check your child into our system, and then one of our team will lead your child to their age-appropriate room.
Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):
Before Service: A member of our Explorers team will help you check in your child on our database. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold on to the matching tag.
After Service: After the service is complete, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.
During Service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, your child’s name will appear on the screen. We ask that you exit the main hall immediately and speak with a member of our Welcome Team who will direct you to your child’s room.
Ben Bateson joined the Jubilee Church leadership team in 2016 as the leader of our Kids Ministry, Explorers. Ben is a teacher and is married to Esther.
