Crossline
Crossline is a telephone helpline which was founded in 1998 and ran by a group of volunteers who are available to listen and, where appropriate, to pray with those who call to show Jesus’ love and compassion for them and to provide a confidential listening ear, whatever their problem.
Crossline takes calls from Christians and non-Christians, focussing on biblical principles while sensitively listening, caring and sharing. Where appropriate callers can be put in touch with other specialist agencies.
As part of the National Christian Helpline, Crossline is a confidential, totally voluntary, Christian-staffed helpline established in Hull and the surrounding area and seeks to be represent the diversity of evangelical witness.
Founded on Scripture, Crossline's goal is to fulfil Isaiah 61:1 - The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.
How can you get involved?
- Volunteer: Crossline are always looking for more listeners who can spend a few hours a week listening to callers. After initial training this can be done in the comfort of your own home.
- Pray: Please pray for the listeners, callers and those leading the charity.
- Give: this is voluntary organisation and any money given will help develop the work and impact Crossline can have.
